I come from Southern California and am very picky when it comes to Mexican food. This place reminds me a lot of my favorite Mexican joint in Moreno Valley, CA. We first came here in September 2014, when the rice was dry and the food was just okay. However, since we have moved to the area, we have been three more times and have just been blown away by the food and the margaritas. The service was poor the first two times, however, was great the most recent 2 times.

One of my favorite places for Mexican food in la crosse, they are reasonably priced and the food is simply good I have never ordered anything that wasn't good, was slightly disappointed in the fajitas as they were on the higher priced side for what you got. But they make up for any short comings with awesome friendly service.

This was a huge disappointment. Went with my daughter and the food was disgusting. The pork was in balls of meat in a green sauce and then put in stale taco shells. There was a hair in the beans, and the table was sticky. When I crossed my legs, my knee pumped the table and there was a tar gooey substance on the side of the table. If I didn't know better I would think the food was from a can of dog food. Even the water had a funny taste and debris floating in it. I will never set foot in the place again. Not real Mexican food unless you like Mexican food out of a can. Ew!

Decent ambience, and good margharita, but the fajita was really dissappointing. The chicken was dry and in tiny little strips and tasted more like mu-shu than mexican food. Also way more onions than peppers. The beans and rice were good.

I eat here regularly. Love the food. Great service. Fast service. Friendly and helpful servers. Nice accommodations. Changes to the meal can be made. Generous portions. I usually get #16 or #32. Large food selection. This place is in my top 3 favorite places.

Pleasantly surprised on a recent late night visit. We were planning on eating at the Freight House, but got there minutes after the kitchen had closed for the evening. Desperately hungry, we stumbled into this little place that still had the "open" sign on but only one car in the lot. Luckily, the host said they could serve us! The Host ended up being our waiter too. He quickly brought us some very good Chips and Salsa and took our order. I had a combination with a Pork Tamale, Beef Enchilada, Refried Beans and Rice. the Rice and Beans were standard, but the Enchilada and Tamale were outstanding. Diane had the Chicken Fajitas. The couple of bites I stole were excellent. We washed everything down with some very well made Margaritas! They are Wheelchair Accessible and went out of their way to be nice to us! We will be back!

Best Mexican type restaurant in the area. Good service, good food and fair prices. And every year they put on a free dinner for whoever wants to show up. (I think it is Christmas)

Great food and fast service. I've been here twice now and both times I've been impressed with the service, food, and atmosphere. In our most recent visit we were seated quickly, given chips and salsa almost immediately, and our waiter stopped by within a few minutes. We had our food within 15 minutes and were checked on several times. The food is very good and made fresh to order so asking to have items modified (e.g., no onions) is no problem. Prices seem right where they should be and there is a wide variety of things to choose from. Portions are generous. Eating here is an enjoyable experience and I look forward to my next visit.

Very good food, large portions and tastes great. Outstandingly friendly staff and very fast service. We ordered our food and it was out very quickly while it was still hot. I can't wait to go back again.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
